(Dec. 17, 2013) SANTA CRUZ — The Monterey Peninsula Foundation, which puts on the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Golf Tournament, is investing $800,000 to bring health and dental services to people in Santa Cruz County who can not afford them.
The Santa Cruz Women’s Health Center will receive $450,000 with $300,000 toward the $3.4 million project to open a second clinic in Live Oak and $150,000 for operations.
Santa Cruz Community Health is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award totaling $1,930,819, with 91% financed with nonfederal government sources. This health center is a health center program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed public health service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(q).
