Susan is a bilingual Spanish speaking pediatric social worker who joined the SCCH Behavioral Health team in May 2019 after having worked for many years with Santa Cruz and Monterey County Mental Health Services. Susan also worked in Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital’s El Dorado Day Treatment program as well as their NICU. Susan lived in Chile for one year as a foreign exchange student with American Field Service her last year at Harbor High School living with several Chilean families under the presidency of medical doctor, Dr. Salvador Allende. Susan has a special place in her heart for supporting children and parents and is committed to social justice and a more equal and compassionate society. Susan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and her Masters in Social Work from Cal State University San Jose. She is experienced in assisting with trauma recovery and healing. Susan enjoys walking or hiking daily, enjoys comedy and spending time with friends and family.
