Ashianna Smith (She/Her), is an Associate Social Worker at Santa Cruz Community Health who began working with the organization full time in 2025 after completing her advanced-year social work internship with SCCH in their Behavioral Health Department. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, she is passionate about serving the local community through a trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based lens. After studying Sociology at UC Santa Cruz, she went on to complete her Master of Social Work at CSU Monterey Bay with additional certifications in the Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) and Child Welfare and Attendance (CWA). Her professional experience includes working in community-based settings with children, youth, and adults. She draws on evidence-based practices while centering warmth, collaboration, cultural humility, and mindfulness in her work with patients. Outside of the clinic, she is often spending time in nature, practicing yoga, trying new hobbies, or connecting with loved ones.
