Andrew Goldenkranz

Andrew Goldenkranz

Andrew has lived in Santa Cruz County since 1986. A veteran public educator and public health advocate, Andrew supports the board in fundraising, communications, and advocacy.

Born and raised in New York City, Andrew migrated west for college. Graduating from Stanford in 1979, he befriended and worked with fellow Board member Bill Leland way back then! After a decade in politics and communications, Andrew began his science teaching career right after the 1989 earthquake. In addition to his first love of teaching, he has travelled the country training teachers in evolution and environmental science. Meanwhile, he served on the board of the Health Education Steering Committee in San Jose, and the Temple Beth El Board of Directors. Currently, he sits on the California and Santa Cruz County Democratic Central Committees, is a founding member of Vaccinate California, and is a regional leader in COPA, an interfaith alliance for social justice.

Spare-time passions are cooking, gardening, reading, laughing long distance with his two grown children, and waiting for Giants baseball to resume.
