Dr Lovell (she/her) is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician. She came to love the Santa Cruz Mountains when she moved there as child. The quiet of the redwoods was quite the relief after the busy suburbs of west Los Angeles. She continued to live there even as she attended Cabrillo College and then earned her B.S. in Psychology from San Jose State University. Medical training required a visit to snowy New England where she earned her MD from the Frank H Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, but she was grateful to come home to California to complete her residency at Natividad in Salinas. It is with great joy that she joins the team at Santa Cruz Community Health to provide medical care for the community she calls “home”. Dr Lovell provides care for all ages, sexes, and genders including prenatal and reproductive care. She has a special focus on gender and sexual minority health including care for LGBTQ+ patients. A safe, trauma-sensitive environment is her goal for all her patients.

She still lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains, now with her wife and five cats. When she’s not in the office she can often be found preparing for the next trail run, trying out plant-based recipes, or reading a good book.
