Rebecca Cope, LCSW, PMH-C, is a bilingual behavioral health provider and the Site Behavioral Health Director at Live Oak Health Center. Since joining Santa Cruz Community Health in 2018, she has dedicated over seven years to serving the community, providing compassionate, evidence-based care. 

Rebecca earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Spanish from Saint Mary’s College of California in 1999 before pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan, where she specialized in interpersonal practice and health, with a preceptorship in sex therapy. She is certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International and has nearly two decades of experience providing sex therapy and gender-affirming mental health care. She is an active member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). 

With over 20 years as a licensed therapist, Rebecca has worked in diverse settings, including a major medical center’s psychiatry department, a regional transgender multispecialty clinic, nonprofit organizations, county mental health services, and integrated primary care. She has extensive experience providing general mental health services in Spanish and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. 

Rebecca employs a range of therapeutic modalities, including interpersonal psychotherapy, gender-affirming psychotherapy, solution-focused therapy, EFT/tapping, Flash Technique, DBT, and sex therapy. She is particularly passionate about maternal mental health, transgender health, sexuality concerns, fertility, reproductive loss, and supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. 

A Monterey Bay native, Rebecca enjoys audiobooks, home improvement projects, and going on adventures with her son in her free time.
