
Hali Hammer, MD has been a board member since June 2024. Hali’s passion for community health began with a volunteer experience at the original Santa Cruz Women’s Health Center during high school. After completing medical school, she joined the UCSF Family and Community Medicine Residency Program in 1994 and spent 30 years at the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH), providing family medicine services at a hospital-based FQHC. At SFDPH, Hali oversaw multiple Ambulatory Care sections and helped develop fourteen neighborhood-based health centers. She also served as the Department of Public Health’s liaison with the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium and worked to create innovative ambulatory care services for a diverse patient population. Hali is also experienced in medical education, having served as the Medical Director of the UCSF Family and Community Medicine Residency Program.
