Callia (she/her/ella) is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been a Behavioral Health Provider with SCCH, offering both individual and family therapy, since September 2023. Prior to this, she was working in similar clinic settings in Oakland and San Francisco that focused on serving low income and Latine communities. Callia received her master’s degree from Boston College School of Social Work in 2018 and has been working in various mental health settings since 2011. Callia has spent most of her career working in primary care settings because she feels passionately about the greater access to mental health services this provides. She also values how co-location of services supports greater collaboration between health disciplines and a more holistic, comprehensive approach to healthcare.
Callia has experience and enjoys working with all ages but has developed a particular affinity for working with teens and families. She has received training in and draws on a variety of therapeutic modalities to tailor her approach to best fit the person or family she is working with. Callia’s practice is most deeply and regularly informed by trauma informed care, family systems, parts work, and EMDR.
Born and raised in Santa Cruz (but with long periods living elsewhere) Callia is happy to be back home serving her community. In her spare time, she enjoys soaking in uniquely beautiful Santa Cruz nature, dancing, and spending time with loved ones. Callia believes that healing is an integral part of creating greater justice in the world and feels very lucky to get to do work that supports this.
