Anthony Rodriguez, LMFT

Anthony Rodriguez has been a licensed marriage and family therapist since 2015. He began his clinical psychotherapy work in schools as an intern in 2009. During his graduate coursework and initial internships, he specialized in working with youth, recognizing the pivotal role of children in shaping the future. Anthony worked in Watsonville and East San Jose, serving students in both middle and elementary schools, until 2019. His practice focused on addressing the challenges faced by children, including anxiety and depression stemming from domestic violence, peer relational issues such as bullying and gang involvement, substance abuse, and academic difficulties. Anthony also has specialized training in treating trauma.

In late 2019, Anthony transitioned to a private practice to serve the adult population amidst the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. During his two years in private practice, he primarily conducted virtual sessions with working professionals and university students, and with some children. While this experience provided valuable insights, Anthony yearned to re-engage with a community setting, reminiscent of his work in schools. He missed the collaborative environment and camaraderie.

In August 2022, Anthony joined Santa Cruz Community Health Centers as a Site Director and Behavioral Health Provider. In this role, he provides in-clinic, remote, and school-based services to patients. Anthony is grateful for the opportunity to serve within an integrated health setting, which enables him to reach a broader segment of the local community.
