
Sonia Duran LCSW, is a bilingual, bi-cultural and licensed clinical social worker. She has worked with communities from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Sonia brings over 15 years of experience working with women and families in mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, perinatal care, HIV and crisis intervention. Her approach is influenced by Trauma Informed Care, mindfulness, strengths-based, and motivational interviewing. Over the course of her career, she has worked in the private, non-profit, and community-based organizations. Sonia received her BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice & Criminology from the University of Missouri and Masters in Social Work and International Studies.
Sonia has a passion for supporting and empowering women and children. Her professional accomplishments and strong ethics inspire her to continually expand her expertise. Sonia values self-exploration to provide life-long emotional growth in herself and her patients. For fun, she likes to hike, swim, practice yoga and play with her fur babies. She would like to travel all over the world one day and loves Colombian food, where she is originally from. Sonia feels very proud to be part of SCCH.
