Originally from a small town in Virginia, Jackie spent five years working in international public health in Guatemala and Washington, D.C. She relocated to Santa Cruz in 2015 with her partner. She worked at UC Santa Cruz for five years, implementing Latin American, Latinx, migration, and human rights research opportunities for students and faculty. Jackie also teaches yoga in various capacities and she created a Chair Yoga program for older adults in San Jose.
Jackie is passionate about inclusive health and building healthy communities. She is on the SCCH board because of their mission, impeccable leadership, and vision for the future. Learning about and helping with the SCCH Live Oak expansion project and the partnership between SCCH, Dientes, and MidPen Housing inspired Jackie to concentrate her next endeavour on real estate and affordable housing. Jackie is an incoming student at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. She looks forward to continuing to serve of SCCH’s board from D.C.
